We offer you advertising space for rental properties on our web site for an annual charge. See Rates and Special Offers below. We do not charge a booking fee or take commission on any enquiries passed on to you. See our Terms and Conditions of Sale .

Your advertisement will appear on a separate page and can be referred to and accessed directly e.g. www.goAlcudia.com/villalospinos .
You can therefore use it as your own mini web site and refer to it in your brochures. In addition your property will be listed in our directory of properties in the appropriate section. See Search below.

Our prices

Our standard standard charge for an advertisement for one property for 12 months is

150 GBP (less 10% web discount) = only 135 GBP p.a.

Prices are exclusive of VAT. 17.5% VAT will be charged to all UK residents and EU residents (unless they can provide us with a valid VAT No. or other proof of business)

Currency conversion .

The discounted web price only applies to advertisements created and maintained on-line by the advertiser.

If you are based in Mallorca and would like our local agent to visit your property, help with the advertisement and take photographs, please Contact Us . Our standard price will apply plus a set-up charge for taking photos etc.

If you would like to advertise more than one property we can offer the following discounts:

2 properties 10%
3 properties 15%
4 or more properties 20%

The discount applies to the total advertising charge but does not apply retrospectively.

advertisement layout

The layout of our rental advertisements are fixed. We regret we cannot change the format. If you need to qualify or add additional information, then do make use of the Payment Notes and Further Details.

Please note that our advertisements may only refer to one property. Any references to other properties will be removed. If you wish to advertise more than one property, do take advantage of our volume discounts and take out additional advertisements for each property.

how to create your advertisement

In order to create an advertisement on-line, you will need to do the following:

Sign-up as an Advertiser using the email address where you intend to receive enquiries as you will be required to validate this email address.

Logon on as an Advertiser and you will see the Advertiser's Overview, from where you can manage all of your advertisements.

To create an Advert select Add new Property. You will be required to complete these sections

- Overview
- Rates
- Facilities
- Further Details

You can amend these details and preview your advertisement until you are happy with it.

You can also upload Photographs and an Availability Calendar.

Once you are happy with your advertisement, you will need to Submit your advertisement for our approval and make your Payment.

photographs

Your advert may include up to 6 photographs with captions. The 1st photograph will be used as a 'thumbnail' to identify your property in the listings.

You may upload your photos on-line and change them as often as you require. This is the fastest option. The photos are displayed as .jpg format, with dimensions no larger than 300 x 300 px (72 dpi) and a maximum file size of 30k. If you choose to upload your photographs on-line, our software will automatically reduce larger images which may affect quality. We also occasionally experience problems uploading high-resolution photos that are often produced by the latest digital cameras i.e. anything greater than 1750 px in either dimension.

We recommend that you use photo-editing software such as the excellent (and very easy to use) Picasa which is FREE to download from Google.

We advise you to use Picasa (or similar) to carry out the following enhancements to your photos:

Crop/Straighten, if necessary,
Try out the other Basic Fixes until the photo looks good, clear and bright,
Lastly, sharpen the photo under Effects, Sharpen,
Export Picture to Folder using a size of 300 pixels.

Then upload the photos to your advert.

If you prefer you may email us photos as attachments to rentalphotos@goAlcudia.com and refer to the property id or name of your property. If possible provide captions for each photo. We have software that can manipulate formats and sizes if necessary.

If the photo you wish us to use is already published on a web site, you may provide us with its location so long as you have copyright to the image.

Photographs may also be submitted as photographic prints, negatives or transparencies, or from a clearly printed brochure. We can also scan line drawings etc. We also accept photographs in an electronic format on disc or CD. Please ensure that you have copyright for the photographs you send us. We will retain the copyright for any digital images that we create from scanning your photographs and adding to our web site.

Photographs received by mail or email will be processed free of charge but may take up to 5 working days from receipt.

availability calendar

You may make use of an availability calendar to specify when your property is 'available' and 'unavailable'. You may enable and disable the calendar at any time. To specify unavailability just select the date of the appropriate 'night' that it is unavailable (or occupied).

If you choose to use a calendar, please ensure that it is kept up-to-date. The Last Update date is displayed on your property page. If you do not use a calendar your property will appear in the latter section when a user searches on a date period - see Search.

last minute deals

This facility is available to all advertisers regardless of whether they use the calendar facility and is independent of it. Therefore you may wish to use both to promote a specific period of availability.

You may select any of the 'next 8 weeks' as having a Last Minute Deal by specifying a New Rental Rate (this can be the same as the current rate) and may optionally include a 'previous' rate and comment.

Last Minute Deals are displayed both on your Property Page and the Last Minute page as well as being highlighted in the property listings.

links to your own web site

If you already have your own web site we will only allow a link to this site in exchange for a return link to www.goAlcudia.com Please advise us when you have added the return link and we will update your advertisement. For more information on adding a link to us, see links to us

Please note that an approved link may only be displayed in the Contact Details area of the advertisement. Any other references to an external web site will be removed.

Please be aware that a link to your web site may make it more difficult to assess the effectiveness of advertising on goAlcudia.com. We reserve the right to remove any unauthorised links to external web sites.

payment

Once you have submitted your advertisement for Approval please access the Payment screen. Volume discounts are available for more than one advertisement and are automatically calculated.

Pay On-Line by Credit Card - GBP or EUR
Pay on-line in GBP or EUR using your Credit Card. Our Credit Card payments are processed using the safe and secure environment of WorldPay. See the WorldPay Shopper Security Statement.

If you prefer to pay by cheque, or send us your credit card details, please print out the Payment Form and send it to us with your payment.

EEC customers
VAT is excluded if you are purchasing our advertising services for business purposes. We require proof of business.

publishing your advertisement

We aim to review advertisements submitted for Approval within 3 working days assuming we have received payment and will then Publish.

receiving enquiries

You may use telephone, fax and an e-mail address for enquiries. E-mail enquirers will be presented with an enquiry form which will request Name, Telephone number, E-mail address, dates required and a general comments area. Email enquiries are sent directly to you and are also stored on our database for you to refer to using the View Enquiries facility. You may also respond to Enquiries from this page and thus can access your Enquiries via any internet connected PC e.g. in a cyber cafe when away from home.

If you don't have an e-mail address or prefer to receive telephone enquiries only, please Contact us to set up the facility for you.

viewing your statistics

Once your advertisement has been published you may access the Advertiser's area to see

No. of Views (of your Property Page)
No. of Enquiries made
No. of visitors to your web site (if you have one).

changes to your advertisement

You may make changes to the text and photographs of your advertisement at any time provided it is for the same Property. Although we do not 'Approve' changes, we will review them to ensure they meet our Terms of Sale.

renewals

You will be invited to renew your advertisement 30 days before Expiry.

property list & search - how it works

Properties are displayed in our directory listings in the following order:
Location
Sleeping Capacity
Random Order

Advertisements which have been added recently, use an Availability Calendar or have current Last Minute Deals will be highlighted by apppropriate icons.

In addition one property is displayed randomly as the 'Featured Property' on the home page of the Rentals area.

Users may also Search on properties by Location, Sleeping Capacity and/or a Date Period.

An Advanced Search function allows a user to filter out properties accrding to specific requirements e.g. pool, air conditioning etc.

When dates have been selected, those properties using a calendar will only be displayed if they have availability during the whole period requested. For these searches properties will also be listed by Location/Sleeping Capacity and then prioritised according to the latest calendar update. Properties not using calendars will be displayed in a later section and designated 'Unknown Availability'.
