Excursions & Days Out in Mallorca (Majorca)

Excursions in Majorca

You will find plenty of suggestions for excursions in Majorca in the guide books and at the tourist office so we have just included a few of our favourites here.

You can either

  • join in organised tours which can be purchased from any of the travel agents. Look out for leaflets in the tourist office, hotels, car hire companies etc.
  • take a bus
  • hire a taxi
  • hire a car and do-it-yourself
Trip to Soller
If you do only one trip do this one since you get to see so much of Mallorca in one day.

  • First get to Palma by bus or car - if driving try parking in the underground car park of El Corte Ingles (department store).
  • Next take the old fashioned train to Soller . There is a tourist one at around 10:40 that has a 'photo' stop. The scenery is lovely as you wend your way through the orange groves. The trip takes one hour.
  • You arrive in the lovely town of Soller a nice spot for lunch and/or ice cream - see www.gelatsoller.com
  • Then you take the vintage tram down to Port de Soller - a half-hour trip to the pleasant seaside resort
  • Finally you take the bus back to Palma. The bus goes through Deia & various mountain villages (saves having to drive it yourself!) before arriving back in Palma.
  • You can get a bus direct to Puerto Pollensa if you didn't leave your car in Palma, but you miss out on the mountain route.

OR Let No Frills Excursions take you there. They offer two great excursions that stop in Soller, the Island Tour being the most popular.

Water Parks in Majorca

Western ParkWestern Park

Carretera Cala Figuera

07182 La Porrasa,
Magaluf (Mallorca)

Tel: 971 131 203

WESTERN PARKS (was AQUALAND MAGALUF) is a fantastic option for the whole family, having many original water slides and an area especially designed for kids. The Tornado is not to be missed. It consists of a tubular water slide that sweeps you down to a giant funnel where you will be whirled around by the power of the water and finally thrust down into a swimming pool. Those who dare feel what is like to be absorbed by the power of the Tornado cannot resist repeating. The return journey on the water ride Boomerang, with its 40º fall, is another highlight of the park.

For a relaxing moment there’s the Congo River.

For more adrenalin: Kamikaze, Rapids and a whole lot more.
